NEWS > Aquatic plants will be tested at the Urban River Lab

On 16th January 2015, the Cleanleach partners visited the Urban River Lab premises. The facility is located at the water purification system from Montornès del Vallès (Barcelona) and it’s the first outdoor laboratory to study the effect of different macrophyte species on nutrient removal. The project is part of the European research program INTERFACES, that is promoted by the University of Birmingham, Naturalea (also a Cleanleach partner) and the Ecology department of the University of Barcelona, among other partners.

The Urban River Lab will hold the Cleanleach tests on the effects of the aquatic plants on the water purification system. Researchers from IRTA, Naturalea, Buresinnova and the Ecology Unit from the University of Barcelona visited the premises to plan the work for the upcoming months.
